We just returned from a restful one week stay near Graeagle, California only an hour East of Interstate 80 and Truckee, California (perhaps an hour and a half from Reno, Nevada). This spot is right along side the Feather River.

The Feather River Canyon runs for 100 miles South West from Quincy to Oroville. What spectacular sights there are along the Feather River with the Railroad and Highway 70 trading places all the way and the magnificent Feather River creating all its natural beauty and power.

There are many local sights from the train museum in Portola to the old Stamp Mine at the Plumas-Eureka State Park where there is also a pleasant California State Campground. This area of Plumas County is well known for its excellent golf courses and many good restaurants. The best part of Plumas County/ Feather River is the peace and quiet.

Nelson Pereira and his co-pilot are both retired traveling about in their almost new ’17 2010 Casita. They enjoy many trips a year particularly at State and National Parks as well as spend the month of November all over Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

If you have a story to share, we’d love to hear it.

We highly recommend The Little Bear Camp about 3 miles East of Graeagle. At Little Bear RV Park the owners are nice and the sites are reasonable with full hook ups. There are many local sights from the train museum in Portola to the old Stamp Mine at the Plumas-Eureka State Park where there is also a pleasant California State Campground.
