Unparalleled ocean and river views and outdoor recreation helped four Good Sam Parks top the list of America’s best waterfront campgrounds and RV parks, according to CampingRoadTrip.com , an RV and camping website.
Columbia Riverfront RV Park (9.5/9.5*/9.5) in Woodland, Washington, sits on the banks of its namesake waterway, where anglers can fish for plentiful salmon, steelhead and sturgeon. The Good Sam Park’s 900-foot stretch of beach is perfect for strolling, picnicking and flying kites. A fully appointed clubhouse provides plenty of other diversions, and there’s lots of room to stretch out at 76 RV campsites.
Another 76 campsites and 300 feet of pristine shoreline await Good Sam members at Emerald Beach RV Park (9.5/10*/9.5) in the northwest Florida community of Navarre. The clear Gulf of Mexico waters are perfect for fishing, kayaking and swimming. The Good Sam Park even hosts a geocache hunt, where goodies are hidden throughout the well-manicured grounds.
With 237 full-hookup sites, Southern California’s Chula Vista RV Resort and Marina (10/9.5*/9) affords all manner of watery activities and spectacular views of San Diego’s South Bay. After a day on the bay, RVers can shop at the Good Sam Park’s general store and sit down for dinner at two full-service restaurants.
Situated on the Kenai Peninsula in Ninilchik, Alaska, Alaskan Angler RV Resort (7.5/8.5*/8) offers 60 RV sites just a short walk from a fleet of charter boats that cast off for giant halibut and other Pacific hauls. Landlubbers can dig for razor clams on the shore and fish for salmon along the nearby Ninilchik River. Staff members freeze and vacuum-pack guests’ catches to enjoy down the road.
