TravelAssist Gets Members the Help They Need, When and Where They Need It

Because Good Sam members are frequent travelers and more likely to be away from home when they get sick or have an accident, the Good Sam Club has developed a medical and travel assistance plan with members in mind. Formerly known as Emergency Assistance Plus or EA+, Good Sam TravelAssist provides benefits tailored to members, whether they’re RVing in their home state or sightseeing halfway around the world.

Good Sam TravelAssist partners with On Call International. Together, TravelAssist and On Call International’s extensive network provide emergency help to Good Sam members throughout North America and in 180 countries, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

While we’ve changed our name to TravelAssist to better reflect the full range of benefits this valuable coverage offers, you can rest assured that we still offer all of the benefits our members have counted on for years.

TravelAssist provides a wide range of services, most notably emergency medical transportation, RV and vehicle return, transportation for a travel companion and dependent children as well as assistance with coordinating the return of your pets. When necessary, TravelAssist transports members to more suitable facilities and brings family members to be at their bedside. Plus, we offer non emergency travel services like pre-trip details on foreign travel restrictions, lost item assistance and much more.*

Good Sam TravelAssist provides over 20 emergency medical and travel assistance benefits that are invaluable during a crisis, and you can sign-up regardless of your health background or medical history. Plus, we’re the most affordable at only $89 for an annual individual membership or $109 for the whole immediate family, including you, your spouse and your dependent children.

I received card member #1177963 says valid thru 08/06/2012. Do I owe 109.99 now?

Good Sam says: I have contacted you by email to further assist in this question.

  2. Robert Coinman says:

I was wondering what genius came up with the new EA cards. They are much to fragile to be carried in a wallet and the glue on the back prevents even trying to carry them.

I wou;ld appreciate ti if this message would be channeled to the right people who could correct things.

My new EA Card (which apparently replaces the EA+ extended family card?) says valid thru “8/23/2012″??????

I was told to destroy my EA cards!

The Member # on the new card is NOT my member# either??

My fees were paid JULY 17, 2012!!!!

If I have to pay AGAIN just because the name of the plan was changed, it is going to take a lot of thought as to whether or not it is worth it.

Also, I agree with Bobc. the cards you sent are flimsy.

Please clarify what is going on.

    Thank you

Good Sam says: We’re sorry for the confusion; there were a few cards that were printed with the wrong expiration year. I have contacted you by email to resolve this.

Got the new flimsy card with the expiration date just 2 months away. I have an idea… I’ll renew my travelassist coverage when it’s offered as an extended benefit with the membership… i don’t mind the price, it’s just too much cr*p to keep up with. membership; roadside assistance; medical assist. put them all on the same card renewing at the same time with one payment; once a year, or 2 or 3 years.

Same situation as Barbara Wagner above. Paid my renewal Jul 20 and received cards Aug 3 telling me they expire 8/10/2012. Also, member number is different. Tried calling the general info 888 number and got a recording “no one available-call back later”. I can live with the “flimsy” card, preferred the previous type. What’s going on? Appears somebody really dropped the ball on this change over.

My subscription was renewed (Auto) in April, yet I didn’t get my new card till yesterday (8/4/2012). I agree the new cards are flimsy, and the member number is incorrect, shouldn’t it be the same as my Good Sam member number?
Also I think it’s worth considering, as someone else suggested, “i don’t mind the price, it’s just too much cr*p to keep up with. membership; roadside assistance; medical assist. put them all on the same card renewing at the same time with one payment; once a year, or 2 or 3 years.” This I’m sure would save Good Sam a great deal of money (one card, instead of three). Also this would save GS MANY mailed renewal notices. I believe I get renewal notices on all three, starting about nine months before experation.

Good Sam says: Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I will let the management team know that you second the motion on bundling clubs. I have contacted you by email to resolve your other concerns.

  7. Frank Tally says:

I am one of those that received a renewal thru 12/02/2012. Could you please forward a new card with the correct expiration date. Could you also change our address from: [removed for member's security]

    Thanks for your assistance!

    Frank Tally

Good Sam says: I have sent membership cards to your new address.

  8. I agree with some of the comments above. The flimsy cards are NOT UP TO GOOD SAM standards. Is this service medical assist world wide? We travel frequently all over the world and want to make sure we are underst anding the compete content of this program. Will look forward to hearing from you. Thanks

Good Sam says: Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I have forwarded your complaint about the cards to our management team.

  9. Cory Peterson says:

Will the travel assist program suffice for the mandatory travel insurance that my tour agency say’s I need when I go to the Amazon in Peru?

Good Sam Says: Good Sam TravelAssist is not an insurance policy, it is a membership, we offer great benefits when traveling that can help with emergency situations. However we are not a medical insurance plan. To read more about our benefits, check out http://www.goodsamtravelassist.com/benefits.aspx.

I have tried a number of times to enroll in Travel Assist on your website, but when I press “finish”, the order is not sent.
When I tried to call to enroll, I got a message that everyone is busy, please call back later.
Does no one there want any business or am I missing the effective way to contact Good Sam to purchase Travel Assist?

Good Sam says: We are sorry to hear you were having touble enrolling in the TravelAssist program. I will be sending you a e-mail to get your contact information so we can get you taken care of. Also yesterday we experienced an exceptionally high call volume day which would have made getting thru difficult.
